About the "Head-to-Head" Format

This competition will introduce the brand-new WCA "Head-to-Head" format for the 3x3x3 Cube and 3x3x3 Blindfolded Finals!

Qualification

3x3x3 Cube: The bracket will consist of 4 competitors (the top 4 by single times from the previous round). They will compete in a Best-of-1 format in the semifinals and the third-place match, and Best-of-3 in the final.
3x3x3 Blindfolded: The bracket will consist of 12 competitors (the top 12 by average from the previous round). They will compete in Best-of-1 in the first round and quarterfinals, Best-of-3 in the semifinals and the third-place match, and Best-of-5 in the final.

Overall Tournament Structure

3x3x3 Cube: Round of 12 -> Quarter-Finals (Round of 8) -> Semi-Finals (Round of 4) -> Bronze Medal Match -> Grand Final.
3x3x3 Blindfolded: Semi-Finals (Round of 4) -> Bronze Medal Match -> Grand Final.

Single Set Rules

Both competitors will start inspecting simultaneously. Based on the solving time, the first competitor to successfully solve the cube earns 1 point.
The first competitor to score 3 points wins the set.

Advancement Rules

3x3x3 Cube: The Round of 12 and Quarter-Finals will use a Single-Set format (1 set only). The Semi-Finals and Bronze Medal Match will use a Best-of-3-Sets format. The Gold Medal Match will use a Best-of-5-Sets format.
3x3x3 Blindfolded: The Semi-Finals and Bronze Medal Match will use a Single-Set format. The Gold Medal Match will use a Best-of-3-Sets format.

The final rankings and all valid single solving results (Singles) achieved by competitors in this format will be recognized as official WCA records and updated on their Cubing China personal profiles.

The participant limit for this competition has been increased to 90, and registration is now reopened with immediate effect.

The number of players advancing to the second round will be 75% of the total participants in the first round (rounded down). The number of participants listed on the schedule page is for reference only, and the final count will be based on the actual number of participants on the day of the event.

【Qualification Explanation】
The 3x3x3 Fewest Moves and 3x3x3 Multi-Blindfolded events in this competition have qualifications. Participants who meet the following ranking requirements are eligible to compete in the corresponding event:

Fewest Moves: Top 50 in the pre-ranking average result
Multi-Blindfolded: Top 25 in the pre-ranking single result

Pre-ranking is based on official WCA results achieved before January 18, 2026. If a registered participant’s result does not meet the qualification, the events (3FMC、3MBLD) won't be eligible to compete, and fee for the event will be refunded after the competition.

【GANCUBE Smart 3x3 Cube Event】

This event consists of two parts: an online qualification stage and an on-site finals.

I. Online Stage

Time: December 18, 2025 – January 18, 2026 (open daily from 20:00 to 21:00)
How to participate: Log in to the "Cube Planet" App to take part.
Format: 8-player single-elimination bracket matches.
Qualification: Purchase the corresponding competition pass and meet specified requirements to earn eligibility for the offline finals and exclusive souvenirs.

II. On-site Finals

Time: February 7, 2026, 19:00–20:30 (check-in begins at 18:30)
Location: Main competition venue
Participation: Participate in activities, collect 100 badges, complete secondary registration confirmation, then exchange for a competitor number card at the registration desk.
Format: The competition will adopt the "multi-player speed-solving room match" format, divided into preliminary and final rounds to compete for rankings and prizes.

【About the "Head-to-Head" Format】

For the first time, this competition will introduce the brand-new "Head-to-Head" format for the 3x3x3 and 4x4x4 finals.

【Eligibility】

3x3x3 Cube: The top 16 competitors from the semi-final will advance to the "Head-to-Head" knockout stage.
4x4x4 Cube: The top 8 competitors from the second round will advance to the "Head-to-Head" knockout stage.

【Matchup Rules】
Based on the results from the preceding round, the first-round matchups will be: 16th vs 1st, 15th vs 2nd, 14th vs 3rd, and so on.

【Single Game Rules】

Both competitors start inspection at the same time. The competitor who successfully solves the cube first in each attempt scores 1 point.
The first competitor to score 3 points wins the game.

【Advancement Rules】

The match is a "best-of-three" games. The first competitor to win two games advances to the next round.

【Overall Tournament Structure】

3x3x3 Cube: Round of 16, Quarter-finals, Semi-finals, Bronze Medal Match, Gold Medal Match.
4x4x4 Cube: Quarter-finals, Semi-finals, Bronze Medal Match, Gold Medal Match.

【Additional Notes】

The final rankings and all single solve times achieved during this format will be considered valid official WCA results and will be updated on the competitors' WCA profiles.
No average results will be calculated for the "Head-to-Head" format.

【Awards】

All-Rounder King Award: Calculated by summing up a competitor's rankings across all official events in this competition. The competitor with the lowest total sum wins. (If an event is not participated in, the rank for that event will be counted as the total number of participants + 1). In case of a tie, the competitor with the better 3x3x3 average in the first round will win.
Breakthrough King Award: Awarded to the competitor who breaks the most personal records (PRs) during the competition. In case of a tie, the competitor with the better overall ranking (as calculated for the "All-Rounder King Award") will win.
Fastest Single Solve Award (3x3x3): Awarded to the competitor with the best single solve from all 4 rounds of the 3x3x3 event.
Fastest Single Solve Award (4x4x4): Awarded to the competitor with the best single solve from all 3 rounds of the 4x4x4 event.

【Admission Rules】

There is no free admission for this competition. All spectators and accompanying persons must purchase an entry pass to enter the venue. Purchase Link:

Pass options are as follows:
A. One-Day Pass: RMB 60 per person per day
B. Three-Day Pass: RMB 150 per person for the entire event

Competitors under the age of 14 will receive one 50% discount coupon. This coupon can be used only once by one accompanying person to purchase one entry pass. The accompanying person must check in together with the competitor.
All entry passes must be purchased using real names. The ID card number is required for public security registration and for purchasing accident insurance.
All entry passes are non-transferable. One-day passes are not valid across different days. For example, a pass purchased for Feb 7th is only valid for that day and cannot be used for entry on Feb 8th.
Before the withdrawal deadline (January 18), if a competitor withdraws from the competition, the entry pass for their accompanying person will also be fully refunded to the original payment account.
Between the withdrawal deadline and the competition (January 19 - February 5), competitors cannot withdraw. However, they can contact the organizers to request a refund for entry passes, with a 90% refund amount.
The number of entry passes available for purchase offline on the day of the competition is limited. These passes are not eligible for the 50% discount for companions of junior competitors and do not include accident insurance.
If anyone is found inside the venue without wearing an entry pass, or is found transferring their pass/competitor badge to others, or engaging in any other disruptive behavior, the organizers have the right to remove them from the venue. Any affected competitor's eligibility and results may be disqualified as a consequence, and the responsibility will be borne by the competitor and their accompanying person.

To ensure the quietness and order of the competition venue, each participant can bring a maximum of one accompanying person for free entry. Accompanying Persons and Audience

To ensure the quietness and order of the competition venue, each contestant is allowed to bring a maximum of one accompanying person to enter the venue for free for this competition. If there is more than one accompanying person, they need to purchase tickets on-site at the price of 50 yuan per person. The accompanying persons need to sign in with the contestants.
