About the Competition

About the "Head-to-Head" Format
This competition will introduce the brand-new WCA "Head-to-Head" format for the 3x3x3 Cube and 3x3x3 Blindfolded Finals!

Qualification
-
3x3x3 Cube: The bracket will consist of 4 competitors (the top 4 by single times from the previous round). They will compete in a Best-of-1 format in the semifinals and the third-place match, and Best-of-3 in the final.

3x3x3 Blindfolded: The bracket will consist of 12 competitors (the top 12 by average from the previous round). They will compete in Best-of-1 in the first round and quarterfinals, Best-of-3 in the semifinals and the third-place match, and Best-of-5 in the final.

Overall Tournament Structure

3x3x3 Cube: Round of 12 -> Quarter-Finals (Round of 8) -> Semi-Finals (Round of 4) -> Bronze Medal Match -> Grand Final.

3x3x3 Blindfolded: Semi-Finals (Round of 4) -> Bronze Medal Match -> Grand Final.

Single Set Rules

Both competitors will start inspecting simultaneously. Based on the solving time, the first competitor to successfully solve the cube earns 1 point.

The first competitor to score 3 points wins the set.

Advancement Rules
-
3x3x3 Cube: The Round of 12 and Quarter-Finals will use a Single-Set format (1 set only). The Semi-Finals and Bronze Medal Match will use a Best-of-3-Sets format. The Gold Medal Match will use a Best-of-5-Sets format.

3x3x3 Blindfolded: The Semi-Finals and Bronze Medal Match will use a Single-Set format. The Gold Medal Match will use a Best-of-3-Sets format.

The final rankings and all valid single solving results (Singles) achieved by competitors in this format will be recognized as official WCA records and updated on their Cubing China personal profiles.
